Getting things done

Southwark Circle employs local people called Neighbourhood Helpers to help out with a variety of tasks. Some are great at DIY, other like teaching how to do things like use the Internet or speak a language, and of course there are some with ‘green fingers’ to help out with gardening. All Neighbourhood Helpers are background checked and live locally. So getting help through Southwark Circle means you’re getting things done and helping out the community at the same time.

Have a look below at some recent jobs that members have requested.

  • Computer lessons

A member learnt how to set up a Facebook page so that she could keep in touch with her grandson in Australia
  • Gardening

A Neighbourhood Helper went to visit a member to clear out the garden and take away the clutter, so it is now ready to have new plants put in

  • Help around the house

A Neighbourhood Helper went round to a members house to paint the window panes in the bathroom
